The aim is to collectively improve and advance the healthcare landscape in Nigeria. WIHCN’s commitment is reflected in its key initiatives, focusing on networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and educational initiatives to enhance women’s knowledge and skills in healthcare. With extensive training and experience in Internal Medicine and Haematology from top institutions in the UK, she leads a skilled team providing world-class cancer care and specialized treatments. Active in numerous medical societies, she is dedicated to advancing healthcare in Nigeria and globally.

Dr. Kemi Ogunyemi

Secretary Board of Trustees, Special Adviser on Health to the Lagos State Governor

A Cancer Nurse Specialist with 25+ years of experience, she holds dual Master’s degrees in Health Care Administration and Nursing from the University of Phoenix, USA. Registered in both the US and UK, she champions cancer care and healthcare promotion across the US, UK, and Nigeria, and serves as a public speaker advocating for women’s wellness. Additionally, as a trainer, Ogunyemi has facilitated customer service and attitudinal change training for Secondary Health Facility employees in Lagos State.

Hansatu Adegbite

The National Consultant on Private Sector Partnerships for UN Women Nigeria, She’s a seasoned social sector professional dedicated to inspiring and impacting lives. Hansatu is a UN Women trainer in private sector and political leadership, certified by the International Finance Corporation and Learning Performance Institute UK. Formerly the Executive Director of WIMBIZ Lagos, she serves on multiple advisory boards and councils including CARE Nigeria and the Nigerian Conservation Foundation. Recognized with the 2022 Award of Excellence by the Minister of Women Affairs, she holds an MBA from Business School Netherlands and certifications from Harvard Business School and Enterprise Development Centre. Hansatu champions women’s economic empowerment, leadership, and motivational speaking.

Prof Folasade Ogunsola

Member

The first female Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, was the pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor Development services and first female Provost of its College of Medicine, She is a Clinical Microbiologist and Fellow of the National Postgraduate College of Pathologists, West African College of Physicians and Royal college of Pathologists UK. Her research interest is in Infection Control and antibiotic resistance on which she has consulted nationally and internationally (WHO, African CDC). She is presently a member of the Governing council of the University of Ghana, Iwosan Medical Advisory Council, and the board of trustees of the Foundation Immune Engineering for Global Child and Adolescent Health (FIE) in Basel, Switzerland. She is widely published nationally and internationally and is an advocate for women in leadership.

Nieros Oyegun-Soerensen

She is a partner and Chief Operating Officer at Verod, a prominent West Africa-focused private equity firm known for its investments in healthcare, including pharmaceuticals, retail pharmacies, and health insurance. Previously, she led The Africa List at British International Investment (formerly CDC Group) and held senior roles at LADOL, Macquarie, New Holland Capital, and Goldman Sachs. Nieros serves as a director at Tangerine Financial Holdings, Tangerine Life Insurance Ltd and serves on the board of the African Private Capital Association (AVCA). She holds a B.A. magna cum laude from Columbia University and an M.Sc. in Finance from London Business School, where she is active on the Dean’s Alumni Council.

She is a renowned US trained consultant specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Public Health Physician, with over two decades of healthcare experience. As an internationally recognized thought leader in the field of women’s health and an advocate for gender equality and the rights of women and girls; she founded the Women at Risk International Foundation WARIF which has become a leading pan African non-profit organisation, successfully addressing the prevalence of gender based violence in Nigeria and Africa.
