Amidst the joyful buzz of celebration, we found ourselves immersed in the extraordinary celebration of International Women’s Day 2024, hosted by Association of Medical Students University of Lagos (AMSUL). Proudly standing as sponsors, we were privileged to witness a remarkable gathering.
Dr Modupe Elebute-Odunsi MBBS MD FRCP FRCPath, the visionary Founder of Women in Healthcare Network (WIHCN) 👩🏾⚕🩺💙, graced the event with her inspiring words, igniting a fire of empowerment that illuminated the morning. Joined by co-founders Unoma Grant and Obafunmilayo Oridota, their collective presence left the audience spellbound, filled with admiration and inspiration.
A delightful surprise awaited as we learned one of the event’s hosts had once been a beneficiary of WIHCN’s scholarship, showcasing the tangible impact of such initiatives. The students’ newfound excitement for WIHCN radiated with purpose and enthusiasm, eager to embrace a community dedicated to supporting and empowering women in healthcare.
